How do I check whether my Instagram transcript missed the ending?

  1. Listen to the end of your saved video. Write down the last spoken sentence.
  2. Find that sentence in the on-screen transcript. If it is missing, check that you uploaded the complete video and transcribe again.
  3. Find it in your TXT or SRT download. If it appears on screen but is absent from the file, export again and open the new download.

Compare the words you hear. A subtitle can end before the video ends when the remaining footage has no speech.

Our controlled export test

We ran Media to Words' current TXT and SRT export functions on two constructed transcript results on November 5, 2026. Both began with “Opening sentence.” from 0 to 2 seconds. The complete result also contained “Final sentence.” from 8 to 10 seconds. For the second result, we removed that final entry before exporting.

The exporter preserved the entries it received in both test cases.

In the complete export, TXT contained [00:00:08] Final sentence. The corresponding SRT cue ran from 00:00:08,000 to 00:00:10,000. In the incomplete export, both files ended with the opening sentence. Downloading a different format could not recover an entry absent from the supplied result.

This test exercised the export functions with constructed text and timestamps. Speech recognition and Instagram video retrieval were outside the test. To check a real recording, compare the final words against playback as well as the downloaded file.

What should I do with the result?

If the final sentence is missing from the saved video, obtain the full recording. If you hear it in the video but cannot find it in the transcript, check the selected spoken language and transcribe the complete file again. If the line is present in both the transcript and the download, inspect subtitle timing in your player.
